Credit rating

Acting responsibly

Whether or not your reason for applying for an aqua card originally was to build or repair your credit rating, managing your aqua card account responsibly could help you and your credit rating in a number of ways.

As a responsible lender we believe that monthly repayment amounts should be affordable, so that means we set sensible and fair credit limits. However we do regularly review our customer accounts after a time, if payments have been made on time and you have remained within your agreed credit limit, we may be able to consider you for a credit limit increase. And if you ever want to reduce your credit limit, we’ll be happy to do that for you too.

Managing your aqua card responsibly and any other credit accounts you also have, will help you build a better credit rating generally and may also help provide you with access to a wider range of credit products in future.

On the flip side of this, if you are late with payments on your aqua card or miss any altogether, your credit rating will be adversely affected and you may find you have difficulties when applying for other credit in future.

It’s always a good idea to check your credit record from time to time, that way you’ll know what information has been recorded against you and you’ll be able to request changes if anything has been recorded incorrectly. You’ll also be able to see how your credit rating is changing over time.
