To make a transfer visit your mobile app at any time. Before making a transfer, please make sure that you have enough credit limit available after the transfer to cover any interest.
You can transfer a balance from most UK credit cards, except American Express, Revolut, Zable, 118 Money, store cards, prepaid cards, cashplus cards, business credit cards and any other card provided by NewDay. You should continue to make payments to your other card issuer(s) until your balance transfer request is processed and they receive payment from us.

To make a transfer visit your mobile app or Online Account Manager at any time. Before making a transfer, please make sure that you have enough credit limit available after the transfer to cover any transfer fees, interest and insurance premiums. Money Transfers must be to UK current accounts in your name. You can only make a transfer if your account is properly maintained. A fee applies to each transfer, and a minimum transfer amounts applies. You'll be able to see details of any fees before making a transfer.
It usually takes about three hours for a balance transfer to process, but can take up to three working days, depending on your bank. You can check if the balance transfer has processed by viewing your transactions online. On bank holidays, weekends and after 3pm on working days we’ll start processing the transfer on the next working day. After you request the balance transfer, please keep making monthly payments to your old card provider until they confirm the transfer has gone through.
A balance transfer allows you to transfer a balance from another card(s) to your Aqua Mastercard. A money transfer allows you to transfer money from your Aqua Mastercard to your UK current account.

Your balance transfer must be made within the first 60 days of account opening to take advantage of the offer. Standard rate balance transfers can be completed after the end of the offer period.
All balance transfers must be made by the primary card holder. Secondary cardholders are not able to complete balance transfers.
Yes, the credit card you are transferring the balance from must not be expired and must be fully activated. If this is not the case, please get in touch with the provider of the credit card you would like to make the transfer from.
Yes, you will be charged interest on purchases and cash withdrawals at your standard rates. Balance transfers can affect your interest free period for purchases. If you do not pay your balance transfer off in full because you want to take advantage of the 0% offer, you will be carrying a balance on your account from month to month. If you carry an outstanding balance, you’ll be charged interest on any new purchases straight away. Once you clear your balance in full (including your balance transfer), you’ll go back to having an interest free period.

If there’s a 0% purchase offer available when you apply for your Aqua card, you’ll see a banner in the application. Sometimes, we may offer existing customers a promotional purchase offer, too. We’ll get in touch to let you know if we have an offer for you.

Offers & Discounts
Just head to the ‘more’ tab in the Aqua Mastercard app and go to the ‘offers & discounts’ section to see what’s available. Then:
- Tap the offer you’d like to use
- Check the retailer’s terms and conditions to make sure it’s right for your purchase
- If there’s an offer code, copy it
- Press ‘visit site’ at the bottom of the screen to go to the retailer
- Shop with the retailer as normal
- Paste the offer code at the checkout (if applicable)
- Check that the offer has been applied
- Complete your purchase as normal
The offers & discounts available in the app are all provided by the retailers, some of which have a direct commercial relationship with us. That means we may make commission on some offers.
No, these offers are only available for online purchases.

Instalment Plans
Your app or Online Account Manager will show which purchase transactions, made within the last 10 days, are eligible to be repaid using an instalment plan. You can’t set up an instalment plan to repay other types of transactions such as balance transfer or cash.
Each month you will need to pay at least your contractual minimum payment, plus your monthly instalment payment. There are no fees to pay, but you will be charged interest at the rate shown when you set up your instalment plan. The interest you owe on the plan will be included in your monthly instalment payment.
Payments towards your instalment plan are optional – you won’t go into arrears if you choose to pay only your contractual minimum payment. However, your instalment plan will be cancelled, and we’ll add the money you still owe to your purchase balance. You'll pay your standard purchase rate of interest on it.Remember that, if you only pay your contractual minimum payment each month, it will take you longer and cost you more to clear your balance.If you can’t afford to make the payment and you’re experiencing financial difficulties, please speak to Customer Services on 0333 414 1090.
No, you don’t need to change anything. If your Direct Debit needs to increase (to cover your monthly instalment payment and your contractual minimum) then we’ll increase it for you.
If your Direct Debit it set to pay your full statement balance, we won’t include the instalment plan amount – just your standard purchase balance and all other balances (e.g. balance transfers), plus your monthly instalment payment.For example, let’s say you have a £250 standard purchase balance and a £300 instalment plan (split across three equal monthly payments of £100 each).In this scenario, if your Direct Debit were set to pay your full statement balance, we would take £350. i.e. your £250 standard purchase balance plus one monthly instalment payment of £100.
No, while you have an instalment plan set up, you won’t be able to make cash transactions of any kind.
In addition to withdrawing cash, all of the following are treated as cash transactions:•Making wire transfers•Payments to financial organisations eg repaying borrowing such as personal loans, car finance, mortgages or Buy Now Pay Later products•Buying lottery tickets•Making investments
Yes, you can set up multiple instalment plans. Your app or Online Account Manager will show which purchase transactions are eligible to be repaid using an instalment plan.
Once your instalment plan has been set up, you’ll receive a confirmation email. There will be a section in your monthly statement with details of all your current instalment plans. You can also view information on your instalment plans via your app or Online Account Manager.
This can happen if it takes us a few days to set up your plan.Interest is calculated daily. So the time gap means you’ll have a little less interest to pay than we estimated – lowering your instalment amount.
The Payment Requested will be less than the total of the monthly instalment payment and the contractual minimum payment. This is because your contractual minimum payment is calculated using your full outstanding balance, including the instalment balance. Don’t worry, your Payment Requested will be enough to cover your contractual minimum and your monthly instalment payments.
Your plan won’t be cancelled if your purchase is refunded. You’ll need to cancel it yourself (otherwise, your repayments will simply be credited to your account).
When you pay more than the Payment Requested in your statement, the additional amount will be first applied to the part of your balance with highest rate of interest (e.g. flexible credit balance). If your instalment plan balance hasn’t been reduced, it’s because you have balances that are being charged at a higher rate of interest than your instalment plan.
No, the interest rate on your instalment plan is fixed. This means that any change to the interest rates on your account, including changes to the Bank of England Base Rate, won’t affect your instalment plan. This ensures that instalments give you a clear, fixed plan for how and when you’ll pay the off purchase.Please bear in mind that if your rates decrease and you don’t have a promotional rate instalment plan, it may not be beneficial to keep that instalment plan going. When we write to you about a decrease in your rates, we’ll let you know that you should consider your options.

Select your Aqua card and tap it to see your payment options. If your Aqua card isn’t your default one, go to ‘other cards & pay later options’ to select your card.3. With an instalment plan, you spread the cost of your purchase across equal monthly instalments. This can help you clear your balance faster and save you money on interest compared to just paying your contractual minimum each month.You can choose to set up an instalment plan for most purchases of £30 or more:
- Right at checkout
- Within ten days
Editing Instalments
Yes, you can make certain changes to your existing instalment plan:
- Update the length of your plan, or ‘plan term’
- Rename your instalment plan
You can edit your instalment plan directly in the app or your Online Account Manager.When editing your plan, please read all the information carefully, as it explains how any changes may affect your payments.It’s quick and easy to edit your instalment plan. Simply tap the plan you want to edit, which will reveal the ‘edit’ button. Then follow the steps on screen.
Yes, there are instalment plans that can’t be edited. You can’t edit:
- Any instalment plans created before you buy. This includes any made through personal loans from NewDay brands like Aqua, marbles or Fluid, balance transfers or money transfers, for example.
- Plans with promotional interest rates – these can only be cancelled.
Editing your instalment plan can change your monthly payment and, in some cases, the total cost. This depends on the repayment term you choose.You’ll always see a clear summary before confirming any changes.
Before you confirm your edit, we’ll show you exactly what your new repayment amount will be – so you always know what to expect.Once you confirm, the new amount will apply from your next statement date.
Your details will update as soon as you complete the edit.Go to the ‘Instalment plans’ section and select the plan you’ve edited. You’ll be able to see your new term, monthly repayment and remaining balance straight away.
Yes, plans set up through Apple Pay can be edited in the app or your Online Account Manager, just like any other eligible instalment plan.
When you first set up an instalment plan, the interest rate is based on your standard purchase rate at that time.If you edit your plan, the rate will update to match your standard purchase rate at the point you make the change.
Grouping Instalments
With the ‘grouping’ feature, you can group up to ten transactions into one instalment plan and pay with a single monthly payment.For example, say you bought a washing machine for £300, a vacuum cleaner for £200 and a dining table for £500. You could group these three transactions into a single instalment plan for a total of £1000 and make one monthly payment towards all three purchases.
No, there’s no fee to group transactions. However, the normal instalment plan charges will still apply.
You can group a transaction if:
- It was over £30
- It was made within the last ten days
- It’s eligible for instalments
- In the app: go to ‘transactions’. If a transaction is eligible for instalments, it’ll be labelled ‘spread the cost with an instalment plan’.
- In your Online Account Manager: go to ‘account summary’. If a transaction is eligible for instalments, it’ll be labelled ‘spread the cost with an instalment plan’.
Go to the ‘Instalment plans’ section. You can get there from the ‘pay’ tab. Select ‘Instalment plans’, then tap ‘create plan’ and you’ll be able to see transactions you can group.
